The lifesaving appliance A type davit is a special equipment used on board for launching and recovering the fast rescue boat. The davit is provied with wave compensation unit, which meet with requirement for use on board of the vessels.
The davit is manufactured and test under the approval of Classification Society such as CCS, BV, ABS, DNV-GL, LR, RMRS, EC, MED, IRS in
compliance with the lasten requirements of SOLAS & MSC.81(70).
This boat davit is a davit whose turning out is driven by hydraulic, then lower. In case of emergency, the accumulator may be used for turning out the boat davit, then lower rescue boat with high speed depending on its gravity by remote control
In case of failure of power, the manual pump may be used for supplying hydraulic driving to ensure the boat davit to be able to turn out to lower rescue boat
Working load for this boat davit is the weight of fully laden boat with full complement person, under this load, the boat davit may turn out , lower and hoist
A buffering unit which can reduce the force to 50% during boat hoisting and lowing is installed in the brake in order to protect the boat and its capacities from damage. The brake with such buffering unit is available to stop the boat at any moment, even during boat lowing with the speed of 1m/s.
The rescue boat will be fluctuated by the wave when it is in water and the tensile force on the steel wire will be inconstant as above condition. A wave compensation unit mounted on this launching appliance is used to keep the tensile force constant so as to make the rescue boat stable when it is in the water. This wave compensation unit can be activated as the boat is lowed to the water surface and function until the rescue boat is released from the hook. During recovery, the wave compensation unit can be started to keep constant tensile force on the steel wire and make the boat stable when the rescue boat is fastened with the hook.(Presently, the rescue boat is fluctuating with the wave) The operator should stop the wave compensation unit and start the winch with the max. power when the boat is at the peak of the wave. With this wave compensation unit , this launching appliance can meet relevant requirements even though the vessel, launching appliance are downing and the rescue boat is uping with the wave at the max. speed.
There is an anti-swing device on the davit. It can ensure the rescue boat the relative verticality of the water surface during turning out and turning in in order to avoiding any damage to both the boat operators which caused by swinging boat.
